Congratulations Joanne Larson of Rock Island, Illinois! She is the lucky winner drawn for the $500 gift certificate on AirTran Airways, compliments of the Quad City International Airport! Congratulations Joanne! See, people do really win these things!
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, participated, and sponsored Ya Maka My Weekend 2010. Despite some “climate challenges”, the weekend was a resounding success! We truly couldn’t have done it without you!
Can’t wait to see what happens in 2011………
Had a marvelous time!! If you closed your eyes and inhaled and listened, it was almost close to the real thing!! Keep up the great work promoting this event! Artists get better and better each year. Food choices were much better this yr as well. How about a “jerk competition” for next year to entice even more vendors. Too bad you couldn’t just fill streets with sand, it would be a little messy, but what a great effect! Great job to all!
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you had a good time. Love the idea of filling the streets with sand, but I think Public Works might stress out a little! That’s a LOT of sand!
The “Jerk competition” has definate possibilities! We’re assuming you mean the seasoning ……. not anyone in particular.
Where can I find booking information for this event?
Bands and entertainers who would like to be considered for Ya Maka My Weekend and other events should send a request to ridistrict@teamrockisland.com. Thanks for asking!
